A CPA firm built on the belief that accounting should serve the client, not the firm.

ABOUT

Laléa & Black is a Beverly Hills CPA firm founded on a single conviction: modern accounting can be sharper, more honest, and more human than the industry has settled for.

Founded 2013 · Beverly Hills · U.S.-based · Senior CPAs · Boutique by choice

Our mission

Make CPA-grade accounting feel like a partner — not a vendor.

We built Laléa & Black to prove that a boutique CPA firm can deliver sharper judgment, faster answers, and more useful advice than the big-firm alternative — without the bureaucracy, the rotating juniors, or the invoice surprises.

Every relationship we take on is anchored by a senior CPA, staffed domestically, and built to compound over years. That's the whole thesis. Everything else is execution.

Our founder

Daniel Litvin, CPA

Founder · Managing Partner

Daniel founded Laléa & Black in 2013 after years inside larger accounting firms convinced him that the industry's conventional wisdom — pyramid staffing, hourly billing, offshored preparation — was optimizing for the firm, not the client. He set out to build a firm that reversed the priorities.

Under his leadership, Laléa & Black has grown into a boutique practice serving founders, real estate operators, entertainment professionals, family offices, and court-appointed fiduciaries — with senior-CPA judgment on every engagement and a technology stack that lets a small firm punch far above its weight.

Daniel personally leads business management, strategic advisory, and the firm's most complex engagements. He's a CPA, an MBA holder, and — more importantly to the clients who've been with him for a decade or more — the person who actually picks up the phone.

Tax Partner

David Meyer, CPA

Tax Strategy · HNW · Cross-Border · Estate

David joined Laléa & Black as the tax practice grew beyond what a single-partner firm could carry, and he's led it ever since. His conviction: the return itself is a receipt — the real work is the year of decisions behind it. Great tax practice starts before the transaction, not after.

Under David, the firm's tax practice serves high-net-worth families, founders and executives, real estate operators, and cross-border clients — the returns that don't fit templated pipelines. Every return is reviewed by a licensed CPA, planned before it's filed, and built around what actually matters to the client.

David personally leads tax strategy, international and estate planning, and the firm's most complex engagements — from QSBS and 83(b) planning to expatriation, foreign trust reporting, and treaty positions. He's a CPA and the tax partner clients call before they make a move, not the one they call after.

Portrait

Senior eyes, every time.

A licensed CPA reviews every return, every close, every advisory memo. Never a preparer signing off on the work.

Six things we don't compromise on.

Our ethos

One partner, one point of contact.

You don't get handed off. The senior CPA you meet is the one who answers your email next January and next April and the January after that.

Modern tools, human judgment.

We invest heavily in the software — modern GL, AI-augmented workpapers, encrypted document exchange — to kill busywork so CPAs can spend time on judgment, not data entry.

Never offshored.

Nothing you send us leaves the country. Not your K-1s, not your bank statements, not your identity documents. Full stop.

Long relationships, not transactions.

We hire slowly, keep people long, and design engagements to compound over years — because context is what makes advice actually useful.

Straight talk.

If a return is aggressive, we say so. If a strategy has downside, we name it. Clients don't need cheerleaders — they need CPAs who tell them the truth.

Every engagement starts with a real conversation — not an intake form. From there we scope, agree, and price the work up front. No hourly billing. No surprise invoices. No sub-contracted preparation you didn't know about.

Boutique service. Institutional rigor.

How we work

The tools we use — QuickBooks Online, Intuit ProConnect, Bill.com, ADP, Egnyte, Ramp, Brex — are chosen because they talk to each other, protect client data, and let a small team do the work of a much larger one. But the tools aren't the point. Judgment is. A CPA signs every deliverable.

It's not a complicated model. It's just uncommon.

Entertainment & Creative

Managers, agents, artists, production companies, and post houses. Complex K-1s, tour income, loan-outs, residuals — handled.

The kinds of clients we’re built for.
